Sri Tharan Balakrishnan obtained his Bachelor of law degree, L.L.B from University of London and Certificate In Legal Practice (CLP) in 2002. He is a retired civil servant who served in the Ministry of Health for over 30 years, implementing various health promotion activities aimed at strengthening the culture of healthy living, empowering self-health management, and expanding health awareness services. He commenced his pupillage on June 27, 2024, and is currently undergoing the initial orientation, acquainting himself with the practice environment.
He is learning and understanding the standard operating procedures for various pleadings and applications, conducting legal research on various topics, observing legal proceedings in court, and organizing legal aid duties. Assisting his master conducting legal research in all area of law which includes criminal, civil, family, conveyancing, tort, succession, land, labour, industrial and banking matters. Uncovering and understanding all of the legal precedents, laws, regulations and other legal authorities that apply in a case. Constantly enabling him to be updated with the latest case laws and decisions.
Under close supervision and guidance from his master, he is expected to acquire all the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to be admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an advocate and solicitor at the end of his pupillage
